CatSim: Noise in LSST magnitudes

Hi everyone,

I am currently working with a dataset which was produced using CatSim.
According to the paper describing the simulation framework, the Throughput Simulator takes into account several sources of noise, like the properties of the telescope, the atmosphere, etc.
However, I was wondering whether the noise is present in the observed LSST magnitudes lsst_{u,g,r,i,z,y} of the output file from CatSim, or if I have to add the noise myself using the uncertainties sigma_lsst_{u,g,r,i,z,y} which can also be obtained from the simulation. From the CatSim documentation this is not clear to me.
Thanks for your help!

Best,
Benjamin

The magnitude columns (lsst_{ugrizy}) do not generally contain any noise. You should add it yourself. Do you have sigma_lsst_{ugrizy} columns in your dataset?

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I also have the sigma_lsst_{ugrizy} columns in my dataset.
