DM Scientist – Gave an invited colloquium on Rubin/LSST at the Australian National University and ran a tutorial session for Australian data rights holders.
Technical Progress
DM supported Operations Rehearsal 4. Prompt Processing ran the Alert Production payload with the production APDB during the Rehearsal. The Consolidated Database was used during OR4 and now has an available schema browser. The Rehearsal used the production networking, including the recently deployed IPSEC tunnel, and Embargo Rack at the USDF.
All pipelines now use Normalized Compensated Tophat Fluxes for photometric calibration instead of Aperture fluxes. These new flux measurements effectively subtract background annuli making calibration less sensitive to local backgrounds.
The option to run simultaneously fit data from multiple bands in the global astrometric calibration task was added. This option is turned off by default, but will be useful during commissioning with lower quality data.
An approach for creating quick stack builds to apply hotfixes to the Prompt Processing payload was successfully implemented and tested.
