Community Interactions, Meetings and Workshops
DMPS Participated as an invited panelist at a DESC seminar on “Software in the age of Rubin” - presentation: “Engaging with Rubin science data products and the Rubin Science Platform”.
Members of the DM Architecture Team participated in the US Extremely Large Telescope Program Red Team Review.
Technical Progress
Version 23.0.0 of the Science Pipelines was released.
Multiple community brokers successfully connected to a production-ready alert streaming broker using simulated data.
New commands “butler remove-runs” and “butler remove-collections” were added as more explicit replacements for the “butler prune-collection” command. The new lsst.pipe.base.TaskMetadata class was released and added Butler infrastructure for automatically converting between storage classes on retrieval of datasets.
Jointcal and its unit tests and test data were converted to run using pure Gen 3 middleware
Performance improvements were made for the Rubin Science Platform by converting part of our codebase to asynchronously call the Kubernetes API
Reliance on the in-house continuous integration service was reduced by migrating the Rubin Science Platform container builds to Github Actions.
The cold aisle of the summit computer room in Chile has been isolated with panels and special equipment. The servers and network devices operate now in a 30% colder environment.
