We’re thrilled to share the first new image of our post-EDP2 era: Rubin’s view of the renowned COSMOS field! We’ve released a number of things as part of this new image that we think you’ll enjoy:
- COSMOS is now available in Skyviewer! skyviewer.app/explorer?target=150.11736+3.1991&fov=1.11. This is also now the new default view when you go to skyviewer.app/explorer
- There’s a new page on rubinobservatory.org with information about the image at rubinobservatory.org/gallery/image-releases/rubins-cosmos
- Finally, a news announcement accompanied the image as well, available at rubinobservatory.org/news/rubin-new-window-cosmos-field, with additional supplemental images and videos. (Also in the Gallery)
Resources are also available in Spanish (via language toggles at the links)
This new image represents the collective work of thousands of people over many years — congratulations to everyone on the release of EDP2! We can’t wait to see what’s ahead in the Rubin era of astronomy and astrophysics!
