Dear all,
I want to bring to your attention a number of new postdoctoral fellowships and positions that are available as part of the DIRAC Institute at the University of Washington. These are:
-
Up to three DIRAC Fellowships in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Washington. These 3-year postdoctoral fellowships are available to promising, early career researchers interested in the application of novel statistical and computational techniques to fundamental questions in astrophysics. See https://dirac.astro.washington.edu/2017/11/30/dirac-fellowship-positions/ for details.
-
A postdoctoral position to help in the development of the second edition of astroML (http://astroml.org); a popular Python-based machine learning package for astrophysics. New components we are incorporating within astroML include methodologies from deep learning and hierarchical bayesian statistics. See https://dirac.astro.washington.edu/2017/11/30/dirac-postdoctoral-positions/ for more details
-
A postdoctoral position to develop new approaches for analyzing astronomical time series data using modern computational frameworks. The goal of this framework will be to enable science with the ZTF data sets. See https://dirac.astro.washington.edu/2017/11/30/dirac-postdoctoral-positions/ for more details
The DIRAC Institute is a newly formed center for data intensive astrophysics at the University of Washington. The Institute consists of six faculty members and senior fellows, and 20 postdoctoral researchers and research scientists. We are committed to an open, ethical, highly engaged and collaborative community based on trust, transparency and mutual respect. We believe in providing a welcoming and inclusive environment, in the importance of quality of life, in embracing diversity, in making a difference and having fun.
