Rubin Operations Plenary PCW rubin2020

Hello Rubin community!

The Rubin Observatory Operations team has pre-recorded material (https://youtu.be/XmY3dUH11Ko) and is holding a Q and A session at the Rubin Project and Community Workshop (PCW) 2020 (on Tuesday 11 August at 9am PDT ) in order to keep everyone informed about operations plans as we navigate our way through the pandemic while making progress on operations readiness.

The Ops team is now soliciting questions from the community in advance in order to prepare responses, which will be presented and discussed during the PCW session (if we don’t have time to answer all questions, we will find another channel to respond to you). Please submit your questions (and/or enthusiasms and concerns) using this form.

As a reminder, the session abstract is repeated here:

In this plenary the Operations team will update the community on preparations for Survey Operations including serving data during pre-operations (simulated data, commissioning and science verification data), as well as an overview on data facilities and data rights. Attendees will also be updated on international In-kind partnerships, the Rubin-Euclid Derived Data Products Working Group and the Survey Cadence Optimization Committee. Finally, the team will discuss its commitment to improving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the Rubin enterprise, providing information on initial actions that can be built into the operations plan, including ways in which Rubin will support underserved groups in research.
