Weak Lensing for Presentation

Although I’m not a Rubin Observatory researcher, I am a PhD astrophysicist who has worked on many public programs and exhibitions on astronomy. I’ve worked with CMB researchers and was on the South Pole Observatory team in the very beginning. I want to feature a small section in my general talk on the Rubin Observatory on weak gravitational lensing and the telescope’s potential in that domain. I’m looking for some basics to help me understand beyond the very general things I can find online. I wonder if someone can refer me to good review papers or presentations at the level of a AAS plenary lecture? I think that will help me fill in my knowledge. I’m also quite curious how SN surveys might also be useful to weak lensing too. Many thanks in advance…

The LSST Overview paper is a great reference.

You may also find the recorded talks on the Rubin Observatory Youtube Channel helpful too – here’s a 2021 AAS talk about the science pillars of the LSST. Many other talks linked there dive into particular sub-areas of Rubin science or process.

Particularly for presentations, there may also be useful resources at Outreach & Education | Rubin Observatory.

Fantastic. These are just what I need.
Many thanks.
