Account login issues -- erase and start again?

I think I have fallen into the same trap… I think my initial sign-up was with ORCID, and then I tried through the NOIRLab login, and it chokes and says something about duplicate accounts. Could you disable my accounts, and I can start over? I hadnt used the RSP accounts in a long time, and got familiar with a USDF linux account. But now I want to get back on…
Thanks for any help,

Abi

I will say that NOIRLab access to the RSP has only been working for a very short time (there was a misconfiguration on the NOIRLab side) so you would never have signed up with NOIRLab originally. Starting again is a good plan and then adding the ORCiD as a secondary account.

Did you try with ORCiD? If that works you can add your NOIRLab account after the fact.

Hi Tim,

YOu are exactly right. I used ORCID originally because NOIRLab was not working... Then I didint use RSP for a looong while. When I tried again right after the DP1 release, I htink I tried first with the NOIRLab approach, which didnt work -- dug through my notes, and realized I had the login set with ORCID... but then it gave me the multiple account notice and it wont work. So I am perfectly amenable to restartuing teh account from scratch. Who can help erase the current account?

Hi @abi.saha, I’ve moved these responses from the solved topic to a new topic so that they don’t get missed.

In the system I can see that you have two accounts with two identity providers. Both use your email @noirlab.edu but do not appear to be linked to each other.

  1. Identity provider: Google. Username: abisaha. This account is approved and active and appears to have been so since May 2024.

  2. Identity provider: ORCID. Username: abisaha2. This account is not yet approved and it looks like the signup process was initiated Feb 2025.

Action item: If you confirm you can log in now with Google, we’ll just delete the ORCID-related pending account. Otherwise, if you wish, both can be expunged and you can start over with whatever identity provider you want.
