As you know, much of LSST’s science return will depend on a prompt and effective response to the alerts that it will produce. The front line in this response will be the alert broker software that is currently being developed. These brokers can provide a range of services, including aggregating all available information on the alerts, classifying the nature of the phenomenon in each case and disseminating that information to the science community.
At that point, astronomers will need to interact with the brokers and in order to make that effective, we need to know what functionality you will need from that interface in order to do your science.
Please spend a few minutes to send us your feedback via this form:
We welcome feedback from as many scientists as possible, whether currently involved with LSST or not, so please circulate this to your colleagues!
