Can the general public get access to the rubin data

I can’t seem to find any fits files to download and process

Hi @est1991pnw, thanks for your interest, but Rubin images are not publicly accessible for download at this time.

For now, there are some other ways to get involved in Rubin research, such as citizen science or use of the public alert stream and brokers. We also have a page of information especially for amateur astronomers.

Looking forward, the two-year proprietary period (per the Rubin Data Policy) for the first Rubin data release, Data Preview 1, will expire June 30 2027.
