Centos 7 or other Linux variation

Hello,

I have short question. Is Centos 7 optimal choice of OS or Ubuntu and other Linux variations are good? Asking because they stopped to support Centos 7 in 2024.

We run our own containers on AlmaLinux 9. Other Linux distributions should also work; our documentation explicitly mentions Debian and Ubuntu.

We only guarantee operation on our test platform, which is AlmaLinux 9 as mentioned.

Because we rely on very little from the operating system, with most libraries provided by conda-forge, most recent Linux distributions (newer than CentOS 7) should work. Some stripped-down distributions (e.g. alpine) will not.
