Data rights request — multiband light-curve anomaly search (existing RSP account)

Hello,

I have an RSP account (CILogon via GitHub) but no data-rights role; the registry reports “You do not have any current roles”. I would like to request data rights.

I am an independent researcher doing non-profit scientific research. I am running a systematic anomaly search over the growing LSST live area: I look for non-periodic, achromatic dips in multiband (g/r/i/z) light curves, combined with an IR-excess cross-check. This needs the calibrated multiband light curves / forced photometry of the selected sources, beyond the alert packets.

The world-public alerts give me the detection stream, but the achromatic-dip test needs the calibrated multiband light curves of the selected objects, which requires RSP access.

I confirm non-profit scientific research and will follow the Rubin Data Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy with proper attribution.

Could you please grant data rights to my existing account?

Hi @omegaflow, thanks for reporting this issue here.

In the RSP’s user system, I could see an account associated with your email address, but it was incomplete and had not advanced to the data rights verification stage (i.e., step 8 of the instructions at ls.st/rsp-signup). I’ve expunged it so that you can start the steps over, which will automatically trigger the data rights review process you requested. You will receive an email with the subject “Confirming your data rights for the Rubin Science Platform”, and Rubin staff will help you to prepare your request for data rights as an independent astronomer. Please check your spam folder for this email.

I think restarting the process is, effectively, the “solution” here, so I’m going to mark this topic as solved. However, please feel free to return, unmark it, and continue the discussion if new issues are encountered.
