DP2 ObjectLite Size?

Is it known what the size of DP2 ObjectLite table will be?

The CADC is planning for DP2 data ingestion. We will be hosting the coadds. This thread (Very approximate size of DP2) addresses the size of the coadds and agrees to within a factor of 2 with previous estimates. We can easily host the coadds.

On the catalog side, we plan to host ObjectLite, and we need to know the size of the DP2 version of that catalog. The reason this matters is so we know how much effort we should be putting into the database hardware now vs. a more relaxed schedule leading to DR1. If DP2 ObjectLite is small enough (e.g. 5TB) we can use existing hardware. After a lengthy procurement process, the fairly pricey multi-node database hardware we ordered for DR1 has (mostly) arrived. On the timescale of ~6 months (ie. just in time for DP2) we can get one of the nodes running as a standalone database server. But that would take time and effort away from the larger project of setting up all the nodes for the full sharded PostGres+CITUS server we plan for DR1.

Scaling the numbers in RTN-003 Table 3 down from 18000 square degrees to 1000 square degrees one might guess 0.1PB/180 = 5.5TB. However that table also has the size of the coadds being 300TB, which is wrong by a factor of 10.

These numbers are presumably of interest to all the IDACs, not just CADC.

Thanks,

Stephen
