Is it possible for Monthly Updates Page to reflect when actual construction milestones are completed?

I’m looking at the Construction Project Status page and it says it was the page was updated August 8th in big letters, but the M2 glass milestones have not bee updated. In tiny letters below the table it says “Using May 2024 project controls data. This compares to April 2024.” Can we get this updated more frequently? It would help for funding proposals if there was a page that was able to have the commissioning completed milestones in real time given that many of us writing proposals need to justify that LSST will be starting sometime next year/early 2026. Right now if someone looks at this page it looks like there are significant delays if you miss this was from May and there’s been no update in June, July, or August.

Hi @mschwamb – thanks for the question, it’s been forwarded to construction management.

Thanks for the question. The Schedule page is intended to be an outlet for the updates on progress and timing without having to review the entire monthly report. There is a necessary lag in the plots and graphics as the schedule inputs from across the project are formally assembled at the end of each month for a report that is finalized a month later. We try to provide a written paragraph to cover known progress in that lag month but the whole updating has gotten behind and it further mitigates the objective of the page. The Project has suffered dome delays over the past few months and the updating mechanism has suffered from our attention to the technical issues. We are getting caught up on reporting again and we will get that page updated with more timely information. We realize there is keen interest in these updates to the progress and the schedule, particularly in this final year of construction and our goal is to keep you all informed as we bring the Observatory into operations.
