I have lost access to my RSP account, probably due to a username update after transiting to a new contract (while staying at the same institution), and I am afraid I apparently did not link any additional identity.
I restarted the process to get a new account. Would it be possible to move the material to my new account, after it is approved?
Please let me know if I need to provide any other information.
I can see that you have an active account in the RSP at data.lsst.cloud. There are two organizational identities attached to your account, but they are both with “CNRS - DSI”. It looks like the second one was linked on Feb 6. I think what has happened is that when you “restarted the process to get a new account”, your second identity was automatically linked. From my end it looks like your account is ok, and its status is “Active”.
Plan A: The first thing to try is, if you have two identities with “CNRS - DSI” and you only tried to login to the RSP at data.lsst.cloud with one of them so far, make an attempt with the other. Then report back here.
Plan B: If you’re still unable to login, then yes the process would be that we can expunge your existing accounts (your home directory in the Notebook Aspect, with username rcanameras, would not be deleted), have you start over with a new account. You would pick a new username, and we would move the contents of the rcanameras home directory to your new home directory.
Thanks a lot for your quick reply. Yes, apparently, I have been assigned a new identity with “CNRS - DSI”, after my new contract started. I have tried option A, but unfortunately can not login with any of the two identities. Would it be possible to proceed with option B?
Yes let’s go for Plan B, with apologies for the inconvenience.
Restart the process for a new account, using a different identity provider (e.g., GitHub, ORCID, Google; whichever from the list you have) and a different email address (non-institutional is ok, in this case). Report back here when you reach step 8 of the instructions.
I’ll approve the new account, start the process for migrating your home directory, and then you can link your institutional identity to your new account - maybe it will work, maybe not, but you’ll always be able to log in with your new identity provider anyway.
Thanks Raoul. I’ve approved your new account. Please confirm that you can login at data.lsst.cloud?
I’ve let our RSP tech team know to migrate your old home directory to be available to your new account. This is only relevant if you used the Notebook Aspect - if you never did, or don’t need anything you had saved, let me know and we can skip this step.
Once you confirm that your new account is set up, and that you have access to your old home directory (if needed), I’ll expunge your old account entirely so that you can try linking your new “CNRS - DSI” identity to your new account.
Hi @rcanameras, our technical team reports that they’ve copied the contents of your previous homedir to old-home in your current homedir. Can you confirm you see it?
