LINCC Tech Talk on March 12 @ 5pm UTC: Hyrax - A low-code solution for rapid experimentation with ML in astronomy

Dear all,
I hope you will join us for the March LINCC Tech Talk session that will take place on Thursday, March 12, at 10am Pacific/1pm Eastern on Zoom (https://ls.st/lincc-talks). We will hear about the LINCC Frameworks project Hyrax from Drew Oldag.

Hyrax - A low-code solution for rapid experimentation with ML in astronomy
In the next few years multiple new astronomy surveys will start to produce a scale of data that will require analysis techniques beyond those traditionally used by astronomers. Machine learning is clearly positioned as a promising tool; unfortunately, getting started with ML requires substantial support code to be developed. In industry this would be handled by a team of engineers. Hyrax offers an astronomy-focused ML framework that abstracts away the vast majority of infrastructure code enabling astronomers to focus on models and analysis rather than data accounting and writing glue code. Hyrax enables researchers to create end-to-end ML pipelines in hours instead of weeks or months.

LINCC Tech Talks are held on the second Thursday of every month. Events are also advertised at our web page and also provided in calendar form; and the #lincc-tech-talks LSST-DA Slack channel is always available for discussions before, during, and after the talks.
