We are pleased to announce the delivery of the first LSST–VISTA fusion dataset as part of the UK in-kind contribution UKD-UKD-S5, which is now available through the UK Rubin Science Platform.
The LSSTComCam DP1 ECDFS + VISTA VIDEO dataset has been produced with the LSST–VISTA Fusion Pipeline, which processes VISTA near-infrared imaging in an LSST/Butler framework and combines it with LSST optical data for joint multiwavelength analysis. The joint dataset covers 11 bands – LSST (ugrizy) + VISTA (ZYJHKs).
Data products include pixel-matched coadd images in all bands and catalogue products organised in Butler repositories, enabling users to inspect images, make cutouts, examine PSF information, and work across the full LSST+VISTA wavelength range in a common environment.
Example notebooks are also provided on the UK RSP. These introduce basic Butler access, coadd display, cutout generation, catalogue/product inspection, and coadd PSF display.
Users with UK RSP access can run the notebooks directly from the Notebook Aspect. Users who do not yet have access should contact the UK RSP team to request it.
Feedback is very welcome, especially on notebook clarity, access issues, and additional example use cases.
