I am trying to access the RSP and am getting the error message “SORID “http://cilogon.org/serverE/users/166577” is already associated with CILogon OIDC Claims”. I have just recently graduated from my last institute and therefore do not have access to the institutional login. I have LSST UK data rights. Is it possible to get an RSP account via another method or to change the identity provider? Thanks!
Hi @FraserG, thanks for posting. We could use a bit of extra information here.
When you say “trying to access the RSP”, are you attempting to log in with your ORCID or QUB identity (both are associated with your account), and is QUB the “last institute” you no longer have access to?

My last institute was QUB and that identity no longer works, however when I try to ‘Self Signup With Approval’ using the ORCID login, this is where I get the error message.
Just to confirm, the full steps of what is happening is the following.
(1) You go to data.lsst.cloud and click “log in” at upper right.
(2) You see a page like this and select ORCID as your identity provider.
(3) You log in to your ORCID account successfully.
(4) At this point you should be returned to the RSP and find yourself logged in to your RSP account. Instead, you end up back in the onboarding flow and are asked to re-select your identity provider (as at 00:30 in the video in the signup instructions).
(5) You again choose ORCID and are directed to the “Self Signup With Approval” page, which gives an error because you already have an account (which makes sense).
So I think we’ve identified that the underlying issue here is that you’re being redirected back into the onboarding flow instead of being logged in.
Action: Let’s first try to rule out an issue with ORCID & CI Logon. Can you log on with ORCID at cilogon.org?
OK thanks for confirming. I’m going to bring this to the attention of our tech team and have opened an internal ticket (SP-2465) to figure out and correct what’s going wrong here. I expect we can get it resolved in a few business days.
Hi again @FraserG, our tech team reports that this is actually a new account and that you’ve not yet logged in and established a home directory within the RSP? If you can confirm that is the case, I will expunge your account and have you start over. You can use just ORCID, or the identity of your new institution (instead of QUB).
