Recovering expired(?) RSP account access

I previously had an RSP account but haven’t used it since last year. When I try to login now using Google as my auth method with my NOIRLab account it replies with an unknown user message. Is there a way to reactivate the account or should I start over? Thanks.

I will note that NOIRLab credentials didn’t work in the RSP until a couple of months ago because there was a misconfiguration on the NOIRLab side of things. This means you will never have been able to login with NOIRLab so your previous account was likely based on GitHub or ORCID.

Hi @fitz , I can see you have an active account with a NOIRLab email address and ORCID as your identity provider, not Google. Please try selecting ORCID during the login process, and then report back to confirm that has solved your issue.

You might also like to follow the process to link additional identities to your existing account, like Google.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried Google/GitHub/ORCID earlier and all failed the same way. Just now I cleared my cache and cookies for ORCID and was able to login with no errors. FWIW I use Opera as a normal browser and it’s caused problems with other sites in the past.

Thanks again,
-Mike

Thanks for confirming, Mike.

Just as an FYI, until you add Google/GitHub as additional identities, if you try to login with anything other than ORCID (your current and only identity provider) the system will think you’re trying to start a new account and you might accidentally end up with two accounts – if that happens, no worries, just open a new Support topic any time with and we’ll get it sorted!
