Rubin Observatory is pleased to announce Data Preview 1, the first release of data from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, comprising raw and calibrated single-epoch images, coadds, difference images and detection catalogs. DP1 is based on a subset of science-grade optical/near-infrared exposures acquired by the Rubin Commissioning Camera, LSSTComCam, during the first on-sky commissioning campaign in late 2024.
DP1 is accessible to Rubin Data Rights holders (see RDO-013) via the Rubin Science Platform (RSP) preview at the US Data Access Center in the Google Cloud: data.lsst.cloud. To sign up for an RSP account, please see: ls.st/rsp-signup
DP1 documentation is available at dp1.lsst.io. A journal paper is in preparation. Scientists wishing to reference DP1 in publications can cite the DP1 paper in advance using the paper DOI: : 10.71929/rubin/2570545. The full citation is :
