Another exciting milestone in the construction of Rubin Observatory was achieved last week! The final major component to be installed, the LSST Camera, is now on the telescope, as announced to the public today through this joint NSF-DOE press release. This important event marks the completion of the full and final optical system with on-sky observations starting soon.

ha ha, no. We won’t be on sky with LSSTCam until April. It takes significant careful work to get the camera working properly now that it is on the telescope. This is as planned.
