Rubin Observatory seeks members of the science community to serve on the Rubin Users Committee. Self-nominations are encouraged.
The Rubin Users Committee (UC) has been in place since early 2022, and is the formal interface for feedback from the science community regarding the quality and efficacy of the Rubin data products and services (e.g., the Rubin Science Platform). For more information visit the UC webpage or the UC Charge document, or join the next meeting of the UC which will take place Thu Jul 30 at 10:30am PDT (UTC-7) as part of the Rubin Community Workshop 2026 (virtual registration is free).

Deadline: August 7 2026
Nomination Form: Create a PDF document of maximum one page with the following components and email it to Michael Strauss, chair of the Rubin Observatory Science Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC will review the nominations and make a recommendation to the Rubin Observatory Operations Director, who will make the final decisions. The contents of these forms will be seen only by the Rubin SAC members and the Operations Director.
- Nominee name.
- Nominee email.
- Nominee institutional affiliation and geographical location.
- Nominator. If not a self-nomination, indicate if the nominee is aware of the nomination.
- Career stage that best describes the nominee for the next two years.
- Science Collaborations the nominee is a member of (if any).
- Nominee’s Rubin-related science interests.
- Nominee’s experience with the Rubin Science Platform, LSST Science Pipelines, Rubin data releases, or experience with relevant precursor surveys.
