Self-signup enrollment page is blank — cannot complete account creation

Hello,

I have been unable to create a Rubin/RSP account for 6 months
due to a persistent bug in the self-signup enrollment process.

Steps I follow:

  1. Go to https://data.lsst.cloud
  2. Log in via CILogon (Google account)
  3. Reach “Self Signup With Approval” page
  4. Click BEGIN
  5. Browser redirects to:
Welcome To The CILogon OpenID Connect Authorization Service
  6. Page is completely BLANK — no form loads, no error message

Result: COmanage shows “You do not have any current roles”
No petition was ever submitted because the form never loads.

My details:

  • Name: Thierry Origas
  • Email: origasthierry@yahoo.fr
  • CILogon identity: Google account
  • Browser tested: Edge and Chrome, cookies enabled

Could someone please fix the enrollment form or manually
create my enrollment petition?

Thank you

Hello – I don’t know why that would be happening, but I suggest trying a different browser or perhaps a different identity provider (you could maybe try it in incognito mode, or after clearing cookies first, too). The CILogon system is a third-party authentication service that we (Rubin) have no control over, so if there is truly a bug, it’s likely something that would need fixing on their end.

We are unable to simply create the petition for you. Let us know if you can’t get it to work using my suggestions from above, and we can try to debug in more detail. Best of luck!

Hi Thierry, I checked our user accounts system and it’s not a bug – the reason you cannot log in to data.lsst.cloud is that your account has not yet been approved, because Rubin staff could not verify your Rubin data rights based on your account information. I can see in the system that on Apr 17 2026, Rubin staff member Heather Shaughnessy sent you an email with the subject “Confirming your data rights for the Rubin Science Platform”. The easiest way forward is to look for that in your spam filter, and respond to Heather. I will send a copy to your email now as well.
