Another exciting milestone in the construction of Rubin Observatory has been achieved! On May 16th Rubin’s LSST Camera reached its forever home, the summit facility on Cerro Pachón. The event was announced today in this press release. There are some important items still on their way but the LSST Camera is the last major piece of equipment that needed to get to the summit and it will now be prepared for final verification and installation onto the telescope late this year.
¡Se ha logrado otro hito emocionante en la construcción del Observatorio Rubin! El 16 de mayo, la cámara LSST de Rubin llegó a su hogar definitivo, las instalaciones de la cumbre en Cerro Pachón. Así lo anunció hoy a través de este comunicado de prensa. Aún quedan algunos elementos importantes en camino, pero la cámara LSST es el último equipo significativo que se necesitaba en la cumbre y ahora estará preparada para la verificación final e instalación en el telescopio a finales de este año.
