TOPCAT access to TAP

Does/should the token access to the TAP service via Topcat, descibed here,

still work.

It used to work for me (some months ago). But now when I put the URL in and select service, it doesn’t ask for username/password, and I get the error below.

Hi Mike, are you using the UK instance of RSP? We upgraded to the latest version of the code, last week, and I wonder if sonething got missed?

Hi George, no this was using the main DAC/RSP.

Looks like I needed to update java8 to a newer (minor) version (jre1.8.0_421). Thanks to Mark Taylor who has replied to this thread but his message is probably awaiting moderation.

Hi Mike. This looks like an issue with HTTPS certificates - java not recognising whatever certs the contacted service is using . Most likely you can fix it by running topcat with a more recent version of Java.
