We are pleased to announce that Early Data Preview 2 (EDP2) is scheduled for release on 27 July 2026.
EDP2 is the first of two phases of Data Preview 2. It includes the full set of catalog data products from the reprocessing of LSSTCam commissioning and early operations data, together with the deep coadd images. This release also delivers cell-based coadds and the ShearObject catalog for the first time.
The second phase, DP2, which adds the visit-level images (PVIs, difference images, and template coadds), is expected in the October–December 2026 timeframe. The phased delivery reflects current readiness of the US DAC.
Rubin will provide at least four weeks advance notice before each phase goes live. Further details on the contents of EDP2 and DP2, including the dataset definition, sky coverage, and depth maps, are available in the updated RTN-011 (https://doi.org/10.71929/rubin/2584021; RTN-011.lsst.io) and will be accompanied by release-specific documentation at https://dp-2.lsst.io.
