Hi. I registered for an account using zoltan@astro.columbia.edu, and received approval from registry@cilogon.org on Oct.22, 2025. This account is also linked to my ORCID ID. However, I am no longer able to access the platform – when I try to log in it asks me to register again – but of course when I tried to do that, it says the username “zhaiman” is already taken – so I did not complete the new registration.
I saw others had similar issues which got resolved - could you help ? Thank you!
Hi @zh2007 , thanks for reporting this issue. I can see your Rubin Science Platform account for data.lsst.cloud has a status of Active. It is not linked to ORCID, but rather you’ve used ACCESS as your identity provider. You should be able to log in with ACCESS. Then, it is recommended to link additional identities (e.g., ORCID) so you can log in with them instead.
I’m going to mark this response as the solution because I think using ACCESS will fix things for you, but if it doesn’t, just unmark it and we’ll continue to help, thanks!
I suspect when I tried to log in with ORCID, which was not registered, it began a registration process and created this unapproved account - so if this is deleted I will be able to link ORCID to my approved account.
I was also able to successfully link my Columbia University account as an additional identity.
However, when I tried to also link my ORCID account, I received an error, and it said:
“You do not have any current roles. If your request for enrollment is still being processed, you will not be able to login until it is approved. Please contact an administrator for assistance.”
It sounds like I already have some duplicate unapproved account through ORCID which cannot be linked – not critical , but it would be nice to fix this so I have everything linked in a single account.
Thanks!
Thank you! Yes, this worked.
Hi Zoltan – I found and expunged your secondary (status “Pending”) account with ORCID, so you should be able to link it as a secondary identity now, thanks very much!
Thanks – yes, this worked. I could link ORCID, too ,now. Thanks.
