Unable to log in to RSP anymore

I previously used my old institutional login for my RSP account, but am no longer able to access it for authentication purposes with Shibboleth. Would it be possible to update my account to either my Github/ORCiD or new institutional email?

Hi @astjoephysics , thanks for posting.

In the system I can see that you have one Active account with identity provider Queen’s University Belfast, an @qub.ac.uk email address, and username astjoephysics. I can also see a second account with ORCID and the same email address, created yesterday. It looks linked to your Active account, but the linking would not have worked if you can no longer access your Active account.

If you can confirm that you cannot log in to the RSP at data.lsst.cloud with QUB or ORCID as your identity provider, the next step is to create an entirely new account with a different identity provider and email address. If you want to use ORCID for that, let me know and I can expunge your new (inactive) account with ORCID so that you can reuse it. You’ll create a new username, and Rubin staff will move your old home directory contents to be accessible to your new account.

Once that is all set up, you should link a secondary identity (e.g., GitHub, your new institution) to your new account.

As a side note, Rubin’s international data rights holders list has you as a JA at QUB, and if that has changed make sure you talk to your advisor about the Grace Period in the UK’s agreement (Section 4.5 of the Rubin Data Policy).
