Issue Accessing RSP Account

Hello,
I’ve begun the registration process, but cannot successfully log on to the RSP. When I try to log on, I get an error shown in this screenshot. I believe there have been similar issues in the past that required exgunging and re-trying the registration process. Please le me know how to proceed. Thanks!

Hi @rogo. Thanks for posting. I wanted to check if you received confirmation that the account was approved before logging in and getting that error and if you have signed in with other credentials in the past.

I received an email with a confirmation code to continue registering back in October. I’m unsure whether this means the account was approved. I may have tried logging in with other credentials after seeing this error, but I can’t remember exactly which. Would I have to restart the registration process to resolve these issues?

Hi @rogo, thanks for posting these issues.

In our system I could see one RSP account started, using Carnegie Mellon University as the identity provider and an @andrew.cmu.edu email address. It does look like the email address was confirmed, which would have been the confirmation code you mentioned. However the associated petition for data access in the system was not in a state that I could approve it (rare, but not an entirely uncommon situation). I’ve expunged that account, because starting over has proved to be the best and fastest method.

Please restart the process for getting a new RSP account. You can use the same identity provider, email address, and username. Reply here and I’ll expedite the review process (step 8) for you.

Thank you! I’ve made it to step 8 and got to the page that says “We are reviewing your application. You’ll receive an email as soon as your account is approved.”

Great! I can see that the petition was already approved in the system, so you should have got a notification and you should be able to log in at data.lsst.cloud now. I’m going to mark this topic as solved, but please do open new topics for new issues at any time.
