NCSA Account Changes - August 18, 2016

As Jason Alt mentioned a few weeks ago, we are in the process of migrating to a friendlier user account system. This change will be implemented during our next monthly schedule maintenance on August 18, 2016 from 08:00-10:00 CDT.

This change will allow you to log into LSST development servers at NCSA with your NCSA password or a public ssh key.

If you don’t already know your NCSA password, you can reset it at the following website:

NOTE: Accounts for Nebula and MySQL are not changing. If you use those resources, you will continue to use your existing username and password for those resources.

If you have any questions, please let us know at lsst-sysadm@ncsa.illinois.edu.

We discovered yesterday that CRON jobs and email to local users were broken on lsst-dev.ncsa.illinois.edu after the NCSA Account Changes on Aug 18.

This issue has been resolved on this server, but may still be an issue for other LSSTdev environment servers at NCSA. Let us know at lsst-sysadm@ncsa.illinois.edu if you notice similar issues anywhere else.
